Welcome to the 6th Annual Waterford Film Festival

The 6th Annual Waterford Film Festival will be held between the 9th-11th of November 2012 at the Greyfriars Art Gallery.

For the second year in a row we will be focusing exclusively on promoting short films and screenplays, especially independent short films. This will enable the presentation of an increased amount of short films to our always appreciative audience.

The Waterford City Council Award for Best Short Film will be open to both short fiction and documentary films.

In 2011 we saw a high standard of films shown in Waterford and a particularly difficult task of choosing a programme from the hundreds of high quality submissions from filmmakers around the world.

In 2012, will also see the 4th year of the Screenplay competition, 2011 attracted a huge number of excellent submissions, many from first time writers. The Best Screenplay Award will be open to all screenplays for un-filmed short films.

• There will be a cash award as well as a certificate for the short film competition and there will be 2nd place Certificate for this category also.
• The short screenplay competition will have a cash award for first place as well as a certificate for all selected finalists.
