Welcome to the 7th Annual Waterford Film Festival
8th -10th of November 2013
The Waterford Film Festival is back! The festival now it in 7th year, will be held between the 8th -10th of November 2013 at the Greyfriars Art Gallery.
Last year was a fantastic year for the festival. Combined with an increase in submissions from both filmmakers and writers, plus we had a near sell out weekend. It was the highest attendance since the start of the festival.
For a third year in a row we will be focusing exclusively on promoting short films and screenplays, especially independent short films. This will enable the presentation of an increased amount of short films to our always appreciative audience.
The Waterford City Council Award for Best Short Film will be open to both short fiction and documentary films.
In 2012 we saw a high standard of films shown in Waterford and a particularly difficult task of choosing a programme from the hundreds of high quality submissions from filmmakers around the world.
In 2013, will also see the 6th year of the Screenplay competition, 2012 attracted a huge number of excellent submissions, many from first time writers. The Best Screenplay Award will be open to all screenplays for un-filmed short films.
